Narcissist

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is when someone has an exaggerated sense of their own importance and constantly craves admiration from others. People with NPD often believe they are better or more talented than everyone else, and they think they deserve special treatment. They can be really focused on themselves, and they might expect others to feel the same way about them.

Some signs of NPD include having a big ego, where they feel like the most important person in the room. They also often lack empathy, meaning they don’t really care about other people's feelings, and they might come off as cold or distant. They love being the center of attention and may go out of their way to get praise. They also feel entitled to get what they want, even if it’s unfair to others, and they might take advantage of people to get ahead without feeling guilty.

People with NPD can also be jealous of others' success or feel like others are jealous of them. They might come off as arrogant or bossy, believing they know better than anyone else. Even though they act confident, their self-esteem is often fragile, and they can get upset if they don’t get the attention they think they deserve.

It’s not entirely clear why some people develop NPD, but it could be a mix of things like genetics, how they were raised, or experiences from their childhood. For example, receiving too much praise or not enough attention when they were younger might play a role in this behavior.

The good news is that NPD can be treated with therapy. While it can be hard to treat because people with NPD might not recognize they have a problem, therapy can help them understand how their actions affect others and how to build healthier relationships.

In short, NPD is about someone thinking they’re the best and wanting everyone else to agree with them. It can make relationships difficult, but with the right help, it’s possible to improve and connect with others in a better way.
