Kaliyapur

In the quiet village of Kaliyapur, there was a place that everyone avoided: the old burial ground. It was located on the edge of the village, hidden behind tall, thick trees. People whispered that strange things happened there after the sun went down. Every night, after 7 PM, villagers said they could hear eerie sounds—whispers, soft cries, and footsteps, as if someone was walking around in the dark. The older villagers warned the younger ones never to go near the burial ground after sunset, but no one really knew why. All they knew was that it was best to stay far away from it.

Ravi, a young reporter, had heard many stories about Kaliyapur and its strange happenings. He was curious and wanted to write a story about the mysterious burial ground. He didn’t believe in ghost stories or anything supernatural. Ravi thought there must be a logical explanation behind the sounds. So, he decided to visit the village and find out the truth.

When Ravi arrived in Kaliyapur, the villagers were quiet. They eyed him suspiciously, knowing he was there to uncover their secrets. They told him the same thing: “Don’t go near the burial ground after 7 PM. It’s dangerous.” But Ravi didn’t listen. He was determined to find out what was really going on.

The sun began to set, and the village grew quiet. Ravi walked towards the burial ground, his heart racing with excitement. He had a flashlight in his hand, but the darkness was thick and overwhelming. The wind blew through the trees, making the night even more eerie. As the clock struck 7, Ravi stopped at the edge of the graveyard. For a moment, everything was still. Then, he heard it. The faintest whisper. He couldn’t understand the words, but it sounded like voices coming from the graves.

Ravi’s curiosity pushed him forward. He stepped into the graveyard, the ground cold beneath his feet. The whispers grew louder, and Ravi’s heart pounded in his chest. He looked around, trying to see who or what was making the sounds, but there was no one there. Then, he saw a shadow in the distance. It was a woman, standing motionless by one of the old graves. Her face was hidden in the darkness, and her long hair flowed in the wind. Ravi called out to her, but she didn’t move. She didn’t speak.

As he took a step closer, Ravi suddenly felt a cold hand on his shoulder. He turned around quickly, but there was no one there. The whispers grew louder, and the footsteps echoed in the night. Ravi’s mind raced. He was scared, but he couldn’t leave without knowing what was going on. He kept walking deeper into the graveyard, determined to uncover the truth.

Suddenly, the ground beneath him shifted. Ravi stumbled and fell to the ground, landing near an old, broken tombstone. As he picked himself up, he saw something strange. The tombstone had a name carved on it: Mohan Sharma. Ravi didn’t recognize the name, but something about it felt important. He brushed away the dirt from the tombstone and found an old, faded diary hidden beneath it. The pages were yellowed and torn, but Ravi could still read the words.

The diary belonged to Mohan Sharma, and as Ravi read, he learned about a story that had been buried for years. Mohan had been a young man in Kaliyapur many years ago, and he had fallen in love with a woman named Leela. But their love was not accepted by everyone. Leela came from a wealthy family, and they didn’t approve of Mohan, who was poor. Despite their families’ disapproval, Mohan and Leela secretly met and planned to run away together. But one night, Leela disappeared. No one knew where she had gone, and the village quickly turned on Mohan.

The villagers accused him of killing Leela, but there was no evidence. The truth was, Leela’s family, the Deshmuks, had their own dark secret. They didn’t want anyone to know that Leela had been secretly seeing Mohan, so they made sure to cover up her disappearance. They bribed the police and made sure that no one looked too closely at their family. They spread lies about Mohan and had him arrested, even though he was innocent.

Mohan was heartbroken and tried to prove his innocence, but it was too late. He was thrown into prison, and when he was released years later, he had nothing left. He returned to Kaliyapur, where he was finally buried in the old burial ground. The villagers believed that Mohan had killed Leela, but in truth, it was the Deshmuks who had killed her to protect their family’s reputation.

As Ravi read the diary, he realized that the strange sounds at the burial ground were not caused by ghosts or spirits, but by Mohan’s restless soul. He had been wrongly accused and was still searching for justice. The whispers and footsteps were his cries for help, trying to reveal the truth.

Ravi knew what he had to do. The next day, he went to the police and told them about his discovery. He showed them the diary and the evidence he had found. The police started an investigation, and soon they uncovered the truth about Leela’s murder. The Deshmuk family was arrested, and their dark secret was exposed.

With the truth finally out, the village of Kaliyapur found peace. The strange sounds from the burial ground stopped, and the villagers no longer feared the dark. Ravi left Kaliyapur, his story complete, but he knew that the mystery of the old burial ground would stay with him forever.
